Launched in 1954 the reference 6204 was the first model to commence the legendary Submariner series. The present example displays all the distinctive characteristics of these early models. The original centre seconds hand is easily recognizable by its luminous dot at the tip which does not have the pointed extension. The dial does not display the depth rating as this was only added on later references. The reference 6204 came with two different bezel versions; the first without minute graduations for the first quarter and the second with the graduations, like the present example . This watch presents collectors with a rare opportunity to acquire one of the earliest Submariner models, only produced for one year.
