100% Pinot Noir from Aÿ. A sneak preview just before its launch in 2019 gave an idea of what it will become, needing some more bottle age as it is still quite 'tight'. As you ponder it, the apple and citrus fruit aromas and flavours merge, together with the traces of the barrel fermentation which give the 'gravitas'. On the texture, there is the finesse of Aÿ, showing its Grand Cru status. A one-off in all respects. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
