3 volumes, 8vo. Uncut, 6 engraved plates after J.E. Millais; light foxing, especially to plates, contemporary ownership inscription to ffep of volumes I and III. Publisher's purple cloth, decorated in blind, spines gilt; spines sunned. Collector's quarter morocco clamshell box.


First edition. The fourth book in the Chronicles of Barsetshire series, Framley Parsonage tells of the challenges met by Mark Robarts, the Vicar of Framley. It was first serialized in the Cornhill Magazine in 1860.


A very handsome copy of the book that launched Trollope to a new level of popularity.
