8vo (225 x 145 mm). Original marbled paper wrappers with white paper label printed in black, sewn; covers detached and worn, chips and losses along edges, text block splitting along spine at head, the first blank and terminal page separated. Housed in a custom cloth clamshell case.
First edition, second state
Eliot's second book of poetry was hand-printed and hand-bound by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth press. Leonard later wrote that "The publication of T.S. Eliot’s Poems must be marked as a red letter day for the Press and for us."
A scarce and desirable title in any condition, one of "fewer than 250" copies printed, inclusive of the first state.
