the first, mid-18th century, of dark green cut glass overlaid with chased gold openwork scrolls, rocailles, birds and foliage, the revers with an architectural capriccio, the lid chased with flower garlands, cut glass stopper, unmarked, 8cm., 3 1/8 in. high;

the second, Scottish, circa 1830, the hinged lid set with a citrine cabochon mounted in an entrelac-de-rubans frame, the engraved pierced grille to interior shining through the semi-translucent stone, the tapering sides inlaid in different hardstone specimens and mounted with engraved silver-gilt borders and polished gilt beads, apparently unmarked,
