Pierre IV Migeon (1696-1758), maître c.1725

Pierre IV Migeon, who was referred to as Pierre II Migeon prior to recent research, was born into a family of Parisian ébénistes on August 13, 1696. He came into his own as an ébéniste and his workshop quickly became one of the most popular in eighteenth century Parisian society. He was a marchand in addition to cabinetmaker and was extremely influential on the taste of his clients. His record book survives showing that he was patronized by high-ranking government officials, foreign princes, French aristocracy, and visiting ambassadors.
