Fill Your Own Cask: Borders Distillery '1837' Private Cask


Your own '1837' private cask of Borders Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled at The Borders Distillery.


The Borders Distillery, the first Scotch Whisky Distillery to operate in the Scottish Borders since 1837, have released 1,837 whisky casks for private sale.


The winning bidder is buying the right to having the cask filled with new make spirit, under the Borders Distillery T&Cs. Please refer to Cask Conditions Appendix 2 under the Conditions of Business tab for full details of Donor’s Cask Conditions.


Filled on a date of the owner’s choosing, in a cask type selected from a range of options, each individually numbered cask is stored under bond and bottled when the owner wishes.


Up to four people will spend the morning with our new generation of distillers and then fill an '1837' private cask. A tasting with a founder of the Distillery will follow, accompanied by a fully catered lunch celebrating the best of Borders produce.

Conditions


Lying with the donor. In Bond Only.


The sale of the Property will be conducted in accordance with Sotheby’s Conditions of Business for Buyers applicable to the sale, which are available on Sotheby’s website, sothebys.com. In addition, the sale of cask whisky will be subject to the Terms of Service of the relevant distillery in relation to the storage, bottling and delivery of the whisky to the buyer for which additional fees will apply. The relevant Terms of Service will be available on Sotheby’s website, sothebys.com. Please refer to Cask Conditions Appendix 2 under the Conditions of Business tab for full details of Donor’s Cask Conditions. In the event of any inconsistency between the Terms of Service and Sotheby’s Conditions of Business, the Terms of Service will prevail in relation to the transfer of risk, storage, insurance and release of the purchased lot to the buyer. If the sale of any lot of Property is subject to any further terms, such terms will be published on Sotheby’s website, sothebys.com.


By bidding on the Property you accept and agree to be bound by Sotheby’s Conditions of Business for Buyers and, where applicable, the Terms of Service and/or any additional terms that may apply to the sale of a lot. The buyers of the cask whisky agree to provide a signed version of the Terms of Service applicable to the purchased lot immediately after the sale.


The lots of Property in this sale will be offered ‘Without Reserve’ and they will be sold to the highest bidder, regardless of the published pre-sale estimates.
