An Empire gilt-bronze mounted mahogany dressing table, circa 1815
the arched mirror with tapering column supports, with urn-shaped finials below an inset grey-veined white marble top above a frieze drawer fitted with three storage compartments, on tapering column supports and a concave plinth base, with a gilt-bronze mounted upholstered mahogany stool, early 19th century
table: 152.5cm. high, 82cm. wide, 46cm. deep
stool: 68.5cm. wide, 37.5cm. deep
The dressing table, Sotheby’s London, Highly Important French Furniture and Clocks, 11th June 1993, lot 84 (£14,375).
