A Napoleon III gilt-bronze mounted brass, tortoiseshell and rosewood 'Boulle' marquetry bureau plat, late 19th century
with a gilt-tooled leather-lined writing surface, the borders of the top and the rest of the bureau decorated in contre-partie with stylized foliage, one side with three short drawers, the other side with dummy drawers
71.5cm. high, 132cm. wide, 76cm. deep
An identical bureau plat in première-partie with only some variations in the gilt-bronze mounts was sold at Bonhams, London, Home & Interiors, 11 December 2018, lot 216.
