A jewelled silver-gilt and enamel singing bird box, possibly Hungarian, 1970s,

rectangular, the top centred with an oval enamel plaque applied with a floral pearl and amethyst-set ornament, opening to reveal an openwork grille and a small hummingbird-feathered singing bird, moving its small metal beak and flapping its wings to the sounds of the tune, activated by a bird-shaped lever to front right corner, translucent blue enamel ground over zig-zag engine-turning, further decorated with gold paillon scrolls, the lid and all sides applied with jewelled scrolling foliage over cast stylised cornucopiae in high relief, within engraved borders, the stepped base decorated with similar applied foliage and pearl-centred flowers, on a ground engraved with scrollwork, resting on scrolling feet, the front side centred with a small rectangular drawer containing the bird-shaped winding key, wood base, apparently unmarked,
