Description

Château Cheval Blanc 1971

St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)

Level just into neck, label soiled, slightly glue striped, slightly nicked and slightly creased; Etiquette salie, légèrement rayée par la colle, légèrement entaillée et légèrement froissée

The yield was very low at 18 hl/hectare. 12.4% alcohol. This was the first vintage for which Jacques Hébrard was wholly in charge. In 2016, at the very generous table of a Bordeaux host, it was stunning in magnum. Just the most amazing liquid, with spicy, exotic scents and a total come-hither attitude. Leather flavours and velvet texture. Luscious, glycerol-charged, fabulous wine and incredible with Bazas beef. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

Part I: Removed from the cellar of a cellar of a magnificent estate, this collection has been gathered by a prominent European Family of collectors. With impeccable provenance, most of the wines were sourced directly at the properties since the 1970s. Rarities include Magnum of Latour 1926 and Yquem 1945, together with a vast array of pre War Burgundy in perfect condition from Louis Latour from legendary vintages such as 1919, 1929, 1947 and 1949. Other highlights include 60s and 70s Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne together with a rare offering of Spirits including rare Bally Rhum from 1929 and 1939
