containing around 250 autographs of and inscriptions by musicians and Wagner family members closely associated with the Bayreuth Festival, including Winifried Wagner, Wieland Wagner, Wolfgang Wagner, Knappertsbusch, Furtwängler, Schwarzkopf, George London, Arnold van Mill, Ludwig Weber, Wolfgang Windgassen, Hermann Uhde, and Martha Mödl, including five photographic portraits signed of Wolfgang Wagner, with a number of hand-drawn illustrations of the Festspielhaus and its environs


c.70 leaves, plus blanks, 4to (28.1 x 22cm), handmade paper, panels of cream morocco with black morocco border, tooled to a geometric design with gilt and blind filets, Bayreuth, 1951-2008 


A remarkable volume including entries by the performers of the seminal 1951 Bayreuth production of Parsifal, one of the most important opera productions of the twentieth century - in which Wieland Wagner's stark stage designs shattered 100 years of traditional staging orthodoxy.
