Winnie-the-Pooh reaching his hand into a honey pot


A fine large oval pencil drawing of Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet seated at the kitchen table, 200 x 180mm., on paper watermarked 'Hylton Bank', previously mounted, some creasing and browning, a few very minor tissue repairs to verso


An enlarged and expanded version of the illustration "Tiggers don't like honey", which features in The House at Pooh Corner.


PROVENANCE


By descent from the family of E.V. Knox (1881-1971, editor of Punch) and Mary Shepard (1909-2000, daughter of E.H. Shepard and illustrator of P.L. Travers' Mary Poppins); sold Bonhams, 4 November 2008, lot 316
