Compare two closely related pendants, both attributed to Hongshan culture (c.3500 – 2200 BC), one illustrated in Jades from China. The Museum of East Asian Art, Bath, 1994, pl. 20, p. 118; the other illustrated in Deng Shuping, Qunyu Biecang / Collectors’ Exhibition of Archaic Chinese Jades, Taipei, 1995, pl.1, p. 50; and one sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 29^th November 2017, lot 2704.
