gouache heightened with gold on paper, calligraphic panels above and below, laid down on a later album page with flowering plants and floral vines reserved on a buff ground, enclosed by gold rules and a gold arabesque blue border 


painting: 13 by 8.4cm.

An unidentified Persian couplet that makes use of hunting imagery:


‘That knavish idol set out to hunt,

It hunted hearts with the arrow of its glances’
