the goddess holding a karttrka aloft in her right hand and a kapala in her left, wearing bone jewellery, a long necklace of skulls and a billowing scarf, with a sow’s head appearing from behind her skull crown, dancing with right foot raised and trampling a supine figure on an elaborate lotus pedestal

The tang beneath the lotus pedestal was designed to secure the statue in its designated position on one of the tashi gomang stupas at Densatil monastery where multiple images of the goddess were placed around the upper tiers, as seen in photographs of the monastery taken in 1948, see Olaf Czaja and Adriana Proser, eds., Golden Visions of Densatil: A Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, Asia Society, 2014, figs. 15, 35.
