The finely cast Tibetan bronze is modelled in the eastern Indian Pala period (8th-12th c.) style, with the characteristic stepped lotus base with large pearl beading on the upper and lower rims, typical Pala style jewellery, full and rounded breasts and elegant posture, and the burgeoning vitality of the flower stems at her side, cf. these stylistic elements with a Pala bronze Prajnaparamita or Mahashri Tara catalogued as Tibet, thirteenth or fourteenth century, in Susan L. Huntington and John C. Huntington, Leaves from the Bodhi Tree: The Art of Pāla India (8th-12th centuries) and Its International Legacy, Dayton, 1990, cat. no 151.
