十二至十三世紀 藏傳銅合金阿閦佛坐像

The Tathagata is wearing a five panel crown inset with blue paste, hair drawn up in a tall jatamakuta with a jewelled crown leaf finial and long tresses reaching the shoulders, a scarf encircling the deity, hands in bhumisparsha mudra, and seated in vajraparyankasana on a double lotus pedestal.

Compare the style of the lotus petal base, the scarf and crown type with retained casting sprues, the tall chignon with jewelled finial, with similar Tathagatas in Tibetan monastery collections, see Ulrich von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet, Hong Kong, 2001, Vol. II, p. 1179, pls. 316B, C.
