finely painted with Eyes of Horus, and lines and columns of inscription.

59 by 176 cm.

This Lot has been withdrawn from the sale.

Angelo Macciolli, Sardinia between 1966 and 1972, acquired in 1968

Stewart Macciolli, by descent from the above

acquired by the present owner from the above at auction in 2022

The inscriptions translate :

Horizontal line:

“An offering which the king gives (to) Osiris, Lord of Djedu (Busiris), the Great [God], Lord of Abydos, that he may give invocation-offerings of bread and beer, oxen and fowl, alabaster vessels and clothing, incense and oil, every good thing [on which] a god lives.”

Vertical columns (right to left):

“Venerated/revered one with Imseti”

“Venerated/revered one with Duamutef”

“Venerated/revered one with Shu”

“Venerated/revered one with Nut”
