A Roman Bronze Figure of Athena

circa 2nd/3rd Century A.D.


the goddess standing in a lively posture with her head turned to her left, probably formerly holding a shield in her left hand and a spear in her lowered right hand, and wearing a windblown chiton and aegis, her face with expressive features, her hair parted in the center and surmounted by a Corinthian helmet with high crest.

Height 14 cm.
