A "Graeco-Egyptian" Black Steatite Magical Amulet

circa 3rd Century A.D.

 

engraved in front within an Ouroboros with a radiate nude male figure (Helios?) facing left, holding his right hand to his mouth and holding a whip in his left hand, four magical characters in the field, a scorpion in the exergue, and on the back with two lines of Greek inscription reading EYTUX/EI flanked by three circles.
