Adrien von Ferscht has linked the Gothic K mark with a retail silversmith active in Canton between 1840 and 1875. It is interesting to note that this mark has been found on a set of Chinese Export silver and enamel zarfs made for the Ottoman Turkish market. This mark can also be found on two Torah Tik cases commissioned by the Sassoon family and sold Sotheby's New York, Sassoon: A Golden Legacy, December 17, 2020, lot 38.
