A pair of George III pendant portraits in painted and embroidered silk, late 18th century


depicting a middle-aged male and a female in eighteenth-century costume, the silk bases with embroidery to depict the foliage, textiles and landscape of each and the faces, hands and sky painted, with two gilt and cream mounts, in later giltwood frames, the reverses affixed with manuscript descriptions identifying the two as Martha and Richard Vale and giving biographical information
