CONCEPT OF ARTWORK

Gold represents the precious Malayan tigers. The textured tribal and topographical lines on the Tiger signify an abstract representation of their natural habitat in Malaysia. The red paw sparks the Tiger’s critically endangered status and yet radiates hope in humanity’s efforts to eliminate the poaching of Tigers globally.

ABOUT TEMENGGONG ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE

Established in 2009, Temenggong Artists-In-Residence is the first arts residency in Singapore to create and curate exhibitions and unique spaces for our artists and events. The organisation offers artists and filmmakers a library, comprehensive arts residencies and art-making facilities.

ABOUT NANYANG ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS (NAFA)

NAFA is a publicly-funded post-secondary arts institution in Singapore, and a soon-to-be University of the Arts by 2023 in alliance with LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore.

ABOUT ERNEST SEAH (SINGAPORE)

A multi-disciplinary artist and educator who believes the only constant thing is to change and experiment with creativity in various forms and mediums. Abstraction and textures are part of his work processes, and they represent people and life which inspire or dishearten his spirit.

ABOUT CYNTHIE RENATA (INDONESIA)

An avid reader, researcher, and storyteller, Cynthie is an enthusiastic graphic designer whose curiosity and eagerness to learn new things always lead her to persevere in her passion for arts and thrive in the creative industry.
