both watercolour over pencil (364 by 499 mm., and 418 by 607 mm.), each mounted, framed and glazed (2)


A FINE PAIR OF GREEK WATERCOLOURS. William Walker (1780-1868) went to Greece in 1803 and returned to his native London around two years later. He was a member of the Old Watercolours Society and travelled for a second time to Greece in 1815.


The South view of Agros was engraved in 1805 by T. Medland, and the View of Corinth was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1807.
