An attractive set of this famous and beautifully illustrated periodical. Sir Joseph Paxton (1803-1865) was the head gardener for the Duke of Devonshire at Chatsworth, which he transformed into one of the leading gardens in Europe. He is also known for designing the Crystal Palace and for cultivating the Cavendish banana.
