Oblong folio (269 x 392mm.), 106 albumen prints (222 x 280mm., or the reverse), mounted on pale blue card recto and verso, green cloth, some fading, edges of mounts browned, covers stained, covers becoming detached


A variety of landscapes, portraits, genre scenes and architectural shots from throughout Egypt, by various photographers. This album includes photographs by Gabriel Lekegian (1853–c. 1920), an Armenian photographer, based mainly in Constantinople alongside Egypt; Pascal Sébah (1823–1886), from Constantinople; Antonio Beato (1835-1906), known for his genre works of Egypt; Hippolyte Arnoux (fl. 1860-1890), a French photographer known for shooting Egypt and the Suez Canal project; and Félix Bonfils (1831–1885), an early commercial photographer of the Middle East (many of his famous portraits, particuarly of Middle Eastern women, were thought to have been shot by his wife Lydie, though few are signed); and Adelphoi Zangaki.
