Executed in 1975

Acquired from Rajendra Dhawan, 1975

Born in 1938 in Sialkot, Inderjeet Sahdev studied painting and sculpture at the College of Arts and Crafts in New Delhi. He was a founding member of the 'The Unknown' group, along with Rajendra Dhawan (lots 40-41), and they held a number of exhibitions between 1960-64. During this time, Sahdev was awarded a French government grant and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He later settled in Canada. The present works, with bold colours and graphic lines, reveal Sahdev's accomplished mastery of screenprinting.
