This promotional handbill for a gig on 31 August 1976 marks the earliest known use by Reid of the "ransom-style" lettering that became integral to the band's visual style – the resulting Sex Pistols logo was a cornerstone of Reid’s design work for the band. The band's own songs - all written over the previous months - are also listed in this bill and this aspect of the handbill was later reproduced on the covers of the Glitterbest press kits (see lots 8, 13 and 27).
