An Austrian Silver Torah shield, Vincenz Czokally, Vienna, dated 1879
of cartouche shape, applied with lions flanking the crowned tablets above compartment for portions, above swags of fruit flanking an inscribed cartouche, all on engine-turned ground within bold molded rim, fitted with three reversible portion plaques, marked on front, maker's mark also on two plaques
Height 16 in. (40.7 cm)
Engraved in Hebrew in the lower reserve, “Leib Zoller, [5]639 [1879].”
Within the portion plaque compartment are three double-sided plaques for Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur, Sukkot/Passover, and Shabbat/Shavuot; the obverse of each reads, “which I donated to my study hall.”
