the watch with verge movement with Continental-type bridge pierced with dolphin heads; silver fluted column pillars, champlevé gold dial with aperture for calendar, the first case plain, the outer case chased with a scene of a circumcision in an interior, probably after Picart; with associated leather exhibition case with magnifier, maker's initials BRV incuse

G.H. Baillie, in Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World, 2nd edit 1947,  p.214 records Mauris, London, early 18th century and notes a silver engraved watch signed by him in the Feill Collection.
