A white glazed 'chrysanthemum' box and cover, Goryeo dynasty, 13th / 14th century

White-glazed ceramics from the Goryeo period are rare. Originally influenced by Chinese qingbai wares, Korean white-glazed shards have been discovered at both Kangjin and Puan kiln sites.

Another white-glazed box and cover with similar petal molding and an additional kirin roundel was sold in these rooms, 13th September 1999, lot 25.
