Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘True Blue’ Dual Signed by Tinker Hatfield | US 15

The visionary behind some of Nike’s most iconic shoes, Tinker Hatfield is a bona fide legend among sneakerheads. For four decades, the designer—who now serves as Nike’s Vice President for Design and Special Projects — has applied his singular genius to creating shoes that combine technical and aesthetic innovation with compelling narratives. Among Hatfield’s numerous contributions, his work on the Air Jordan line stands out, both for its enduring popularity and its industry-transforming significance. In an unprecedented collaboration between designer and player, Tinker Hatfield worked closely with Jordan to create some of the most coveted Nike Air Jordan models of all time, beginning with the 1988 release of the Air Jordan 3. 

The Air Jordan 3 Retro OG ‘True Blue’ was one of the four original colorways in the 1988 release, and the 2016 retro marked the second time this Air Jordan 3 colorway returned. What makes the 2016 retro special is its true-to-original heeltab, which features Nike Air instead of the Jumpman from 2011.  The design consists of a white leather upper, with True Blue accents and elephant print detailing. Additionally, the pair features classic Nike Air branding at the outsole and heel and fire red tongue lining. The Air Jordan 3 remains iconic for collectors as it was the first Air Jordan model to feature the Jumpman logo.

This pair comes dual signed by Tinker Hatfield across both collars. This lot is accompanied by a letter from James Spence Authentication in regards to the signatures.
