the drop leaf top supported on eight tapering legs on pad feet

72.5cm. high, 179cm. wide (extended), 166.5cm. deep; 2ft. 4½in., 5ft. 10½in., 5ft. 5½in.

Probably Henry Curwen (1730-1778) for Workington Hall, Cumbria and probably removed to Belle Isle, Windermere, in the 1930s when Workington Hall was given up;
Thence by descent.
Inventory of the contents of Workington Hall, made by Messrs J R Mitchell and Sons, auctioneers & valuers of Cockermouth, March 1930, possibly the 'Mahogany Table with two fall leaves and club feet' listed in the Sitting Room, p. 9 (Cumbria Archives, DCU/1/217);
