Fluorite with Siderite
Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia
4 by 2¾ by 1¾ inches (10.2 x 6.9 x 4.4 cm). Custom lucite base.
Rusty orange spheroids of siderite accentuate and contrast with at least eight multi-colored fluorite cubes aesthetically stacked on top of each other.
Also known as fluorspar, fluorite is often transparent, making it valuable in the production of various types of glass. The mineral form of calcium flouride, fluorite takes on various hues, with this brilliant green-violet specimen serving as a prime example.
