signed Man Ray on the mount (lower right) and indistinctly incised (lower left)

pasted gem (diamond-cut glass), ink and chalk on sandpaper mounted on card

sandpaper sheet: 18 by 28cm., 7⅛ by 11in.

original mount size: 24 by 33cm., 9½ by 13in.

Framed: 42.6 by 50.1cm., 16¾ by 19¾in.

Executed in 1965 in three editions of ten examples each; This work most likely relates to the third edition and is an example aside from the edition.


Andrew Strauss and Timothy Baum of the Man Ray Expertise Committee have confirmed the authenticity of this work and that the edition of this work will be included in the Objects & Sculptures of Man Ray, currently in preparation.
