The billowing sleeves with their exaggerated openings, trimmed beard, and lean, oval face of this St. George can be compared to those of a 15th century wood figure of Saint Giles with a Wounded Doe that was carved in the Rhine Valley and is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (inv. no. 48.154.2).
