Solimena painted this composition at least three times; the original version is in the cathedral in Lucera and the present canvas is virtually identical. An autograph or workshop version was with Oscar Klein in 1970, and another version was sold Venice, Semenzato, 2-5 June 1988. The dimensions of the various versions are not recorded.
