Rolex launched the Submariner 5513 in 1962, 8 years after the model's introduction to the market. It was produced until 1989, making it one of the longest-lasting references in the Submariner family.
Its design remained quite unchanged over 27 years, however collectors can differentiate the early gloss dials from the subsequent matte dial.
Over the years, this example has developed a strong character and is fitted with the rare "underline" dial. It is believed that the underline was used to indicated the fact that the watch was equipped with tritium. This feature can only be found on dials from 1960 to 1966 when dials did not feature the 'T SWISS T' or 'SWISS-T<25' yet.
