Vintage chronographs from the 1930s and 1940s have become extremely sought-after within the vintage watch-collecting scene. This 1930s Heuer is a beautiful example. It features a snap-back 33mm case with olive pushers and a large size winding crown.
The ref. 2403 chronographs by Heuer came in different case and dial variations. The present example comes with a telemeter scale. The telemeter scale is used to approximate the distance to something that can be heard or seen. It was often used to calculate fire range on the battlefields of WWI and WWII.
Sotheby's is honored to offer the collection of a former race car driver (in total 28 watches) with proceeds benefiting an initiative to support children of refugees in Germany.
