Introduced in the 1940s, the DateJust is perhaps the most iconic collection from Rolex's repertoire. Exclusively produced in yellow gold when it was first launched, along the years Rolex has been experimenting with different dial and case materials for the collection, which resulted in flavorful combinations appreciated by collectors. Featuring an enigmatic sodalite dial, the present 16234 is cased in very versatile stainless steel, and complete with a complimenting Jubilee bracelet. Rolex has been known for their exceptional craftsmanship of hardstone dials, which are extremely fragile and the most minor miscalculation would result in fractures. However, Rolex has showcased their mastery through the painstaking printing of text and diamond-setting on the dial. No two hardstone dials in the world are the same, rendering the present watch unique in its own way.
