The Cosmograph Daytona would be an important reference from the lineage of Rolex's chronograph watches, being the brand's first automatic chronograph to be fitted with an in-house movement, the famous calibre 4130. Throughout its long production run from 2000 to 2016, it would be a dial from the later production period to captivate the hearts of collectors. Known to the bear the "APH" dial, the present example of the reference 116520 features a very subtle difference on the "Cosmograph" text, with a small space between the alphabets "Cosmogr" and "aph", hence gaining the nickname "APH" dial. Some collectors have argued that this feature is indeed a printing error from Rolex's manufacturing process, since Rolex have removed this gap in later iterations of the Daytona, leaving a more seamless "Cosmograph" text.
