In 2005, Patek Philippe introduced the reference 6000 and it was the first time in history which fitted with a glossy black dial. It was inspired by the reference 5000 released back in the 1990s, a Calatrava model with an off center small seconds and an inner chapter ring design, the reference 6000 has all of the elements of a contemporary classic from a transitional age in modern timepiece design.
