Arguably one of the most important combination of complications in the world of horology, Patek Philippe’s lineage of perpetual calendar chronographs has been one of the most collectible series since the reference 1518 produced in 1941. The reference 5970 was the first watch designed by Patek Philippe President Thierry Stern in 2004 after he took over from his father and illustrates a range of stylistic elements that pay homage to its predecessors, while adopting a contemporary design.
A luxurious variation of the monumental reference 5970, the reference 5971 features 36 Top Wesselton baguette-cut diamonds set into the 40 mm platinum case that houses the legendary calibre 27-70Q movement. This Lemania based movement was made exclusively for Patek Philippe and powers the complications that are illustrated on the glossy black dial along with a tachymeter scale. Discontinued in 2011, the reference is the last to use the Lemania based movement before switching to fully in-house.
Classic and highly coveted, this elegant masterpiece not only represents an incredibly popular and timeless combination of complications, but brilliantly showcases the watchmaking skill and mastery of Patek Philippe.
