The present unique console table was part of a collection acquired by Victoria Fiore for her part-time work at the Nakashima Studios in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Ms. Fiore and her husband Roland learned of the furniture maker George Nakashima at a local church fair, where soon after they developed a close friendship. Ms. Fiore, a retired opera singer, spent Saturdays working as a receptionist at the Nakashima Studio between 1968 and 1988. The Fiore’s would use the earnings to purchase pieces from the studio, including chairs, cabinets, bedroom sets and the present console table.
