Compare a similar Qianlong example of two boys flanking a gu-form vase, but of larger size and accompanied by a dragon, sold in these rooms, 19th March 2007, lot 649. See also two other vases of larger size attributed to Qianlong period, one depicting Hehe Erxian, sold in these rooms, 13th-14th November 1972, lot 44; and the other depicting Liu Hai with three other attendants encircling an ovoid vase, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 17th November 1975, lot 299.
