With paper label affixed to stretcher, This picture is a copy by Gambardella, of an original portrait of George Washing, by Stuart. The original was in possession of the late T.B. Barclay, by whom it was bequeathed by will to the late William Rathbone, of Greenbank and it now hangs at Greenbank, June 1895
