An Italian maiolica armorial istoriato dish from the Scheuffelin Service, circa 1560, Urbino


painted with Marcus Curtius leaping into the chasm flanked by citizens holding vessels, before buildings in a river landscape, below the arms of the Scheuffelin family of Nördlingen and Nuremberg, the underisde with concentric circles in yellow

the remains of a red wax seal, paper label no. 122 and Durlacher auction entry to the reverse
