Printed notice of the coronation of Edward VIII
displayed in the House of Commons in 1936, in which the Earl Marshal formally invites the MPs and their wives to be present at the coronation next May, 1937, requesting particulars of expected attendance, and referring information about particulars of dress to be worn to Mr Speaker's Secretary, docketed in the hand of F.J. Bellenger, M.P. for Bassetlaw, 'Exhibited in House of Commons previous to Edward VIII's abdication Dec 1936', framed and glazed, c.16 1/3 x 12 inches
This notice, relating to a Coronation which never took place, was displayed in the House of Commons after the opening of Parliament on 3 November 1936 until the King's abdication on 10 December.
