"...Eisenhower and Dulles with their projected support of sanctions against Israel grow madder every day. I would like to see us flat out against any act of pressure upon Israel in Aqaba. Let Nasser disgorge the Canal first...Dulles appears to think that by bulling Jews (or French or British) he will gain Arab goodwill. He will merely raise the Arab price. This may not matter so much to the U.S., but could ruin us..."
